Geography
The intention of our Geography curriculum is to instil in pupils a curiosity about the world and its people, that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. We intend to equip children with geographical skills to develop their knowledge through studying places, people and natural and human environments. We are keen to develop pupils’ knowledge about the world in order to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
Geography, by nature, is an investigate subject. Through our teaching we intend to provoke thought and questions. We hope to encourage children to discover answers to their own questions through exploration and research and enable them to gain a greater understanding and knowledge of the world and their place in it. We are passionate about ensuring that children have a deep understanding of their local area and provide plentiful opportunities for children to partake in local fieldwork.
