St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School Ripon

PTA - St Wilfrid's Association (SWA)

Welcome to St Wilfrid's Association

The SWA raises money to make improvements to the school.

Fundraising events have contributed towards a new outdoor classroom, laptops, outdoor facilities for Class 2, new books for the library and of course payment for ice cream and coaches for the annual Christmas pantomime trip!

Events

Muddy Boots RunMuddy Boots

Our largest event is the Muddy Boots which is a 10k multi terrain race & family fun run organised by the St Wilfrid's Association (SWA/PTA) which this year was held on Sunday 5th February.

This sell out, chip timed event is now well established on the running calendar with over 500 10k entries sold each year.

Year after year this race is proving to be a most popular event within the Ripon Community whilst being a major school fundraiser.

All monies raised by the races are vital components to offering our children a full range of activities, including extra-curricular opportunities and refurbishments.

The race can’t start without of course, our race day helpers.  If you’d like to volunteer there are plenty of ways you can become involved, e.g :

  • Providing baking &/or serving refreshments to all our runners & supporters
  • Fun Run help : Taking entries / marshals
  • 10k Course marshal help
  • 10k Number & shoe chip distributors
  • 10k & Fun Run back up timers
  • 10k Finish Line shoe de-tag helpers
  • 10k Last Runner
  • Goody bag distribution
  • Post race school tidy up

All volunteering can be done via the school office, where you’ll be put in touch with the event organisers.  Full details and pictures of the event are available here.
